Snel overzicht
The concept for the Stingray already existed as the “Big Mountain Mantaray” when the Mantaray was released 12 years ago. Less taper and bigger sidecut radius to match steeper slopes and draw bigger lines. Gentemstick has spent 5 years of R&D to fine-tune this concept, and finally released the Stingray in addition to the Mantaray lineup.
What is Gentemstick?
The Northern Empyrean and all the existence up there, the sun, the moon, and the stars. In other words, the absolute blessing of the raw nature or the natural passage that connects you to everything else. It is like a thick tree trunk that stands tall and straight. No need of questioning the existence, something that stays and will be unchanged, eternally. That is GENTEMSTICK.

- Shape
De shape is het meest bepalende onderdeel van het karakter van een snowboard. De essentie van een snowboardontwerp zit in de samensmelting van 3 dimensionale curves die samen één complete outline en profiel maken. De beweging van de shape samen met de curves bepaalt hoe een board rijd en voelt. Gentemstick is deze harmonie. De toewijding aan gevoel en de emotie van het snowboarden in combinatie met de visie van Taro Tamai maken Gentemstick tot de mooiste en meest unieke boards die er momenteel zijn.
CORE
- Wood
Volledige houten kern voor een natuurlijke flex en gevoel.
- Bamboo
De pop van bamboe gecombineerd met natuurlijke materialen resulteerd in een waanzinnig board. More pop, less plastic.
BASE
- ISO sintered black
Een ISO sintered base is sneller dan een reguliere sintered base.
TOPSHEET
- Bamboo / sandwich
Een bamboo topsheet zorgt voor meer demping en minder vibratie. Deze toevoeging van natuurlijk materiaal zorgt ervoor dat er minder plastic en vernis nodig is bij de constructie.
SIDEWALL & EDGES
- ABS
ABS plastic is een noodzakelijk kwaad in snowboard productie. Gentemstick doet zijn best om bij te dragen aan een duurzame productie door enkel recycled ABS te gebruiken bij zijn boards.
- Needs tuning
Gentemstick boards worden niet in de fabriek getuned, wat betekent dat ze goed getuned moeten worden voor het rijden.
